Genesis 1:26
1 Timothy 3:16
1.    The Trinity is the tri-unity or union of God revealed in three persons—God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
1 John 5:7
B.    Who Are These Three Persons of the Trinity?
1.    God the Father—He is the First Person of the Trinity revealed as The Supreme Being, The Eternal One, and The One Who is Sovereign.
Revelations 4:8
2.    Jesus Christ the Son—He is the Second Person of the Trinity revealed as The Redeemer, Savior, Healer and Head of the Church.
1 Timothy 1:15
3.    The Holy Spirit—He is the Third Person of the Trinity revealed as The Comforter, Guide, Teacher, and The One Who Gives Power.
John 14:26
2 Corinthians 13:14
II.    CREATION
A.    Who is the Author of Creation?
1.    God is the Author of Creation who made all things from nothing by the power of His word.
Genesis 1:1
B.    When was man created?
1.    Man was created on the sixth day in the image of God for male and female to have dominion over God’s creation.
Genesis 1:26-28
C.    Why did God create Woman?
Genesis 2:20 - 25
1.    The creation of woman was for the purpose of becoming a suitable companion, a help mate, for man to work along side him in keeping God’s creation.
2.    God noticed that it was not good for man to be alone.
Genesis 2:18
a.    There is a great symbolic truth in the taking of Adam’s rib to create women. She was taken from under man’s arm to symbolize protection and her being near his heart.

Week 2

I.    THE FALL OF MAN
A.    What Direction Did God Give to Man?
1.    God’s instruction to man.
Genesis 2:15-17
a.    God warned them clearly that their disobedience would result in death.
Genesis 3:6-7
b.    This act caused mankind to lose our state of innocence in which we had been created and plunged us into a state of sin and corruption.
c.    Adam and Eve were created by God in a state of sinless perfection so they could glorify God, reflecting His righteousness on the earth, and enjoy fellowship and union with Him.
B.    Did Man obey God’s direction?  No!
Genesis 3:1-7
1.    This fall from innocence occurred when Satan approached Eve through the serpent, who tempted her to eat of the forbidden fruit.
2.    Satan called into question the truthfulness of what God had spoken about the tree and its significance.
3.    The term “fall” should not be interpreted to suggest that their sin was accidental. The temptation was purposeful, and their submission to it involved their willing consent.
4.    It is often suggested that the women alone was guilty of this act. Upon closer examination of the scripture we find the man right there with the woman during this act of disobedience.
C.    What Punishment Did God Impose?
Genesis 3:8-24
1.    The immediate consequence of the Fall was death.
2.    This is seen by their loss of fellowship with God when they were evicted from the garden.
3.    For the first time, Adam and Eve experienced fear in the presence of the Lord God; and they hid when He approached.
Genesis 3:8-10
4.    From that time on, man would experience pain and encounter resistance as he worked at the task of earning his daily bread.
5.    Physical death, with the decay of the body, is not a natural process. It entered the human experience as God's curse upon sin.
6.    Adam and Eve did not sin simply as private persons, but as the representatives of all members of the human race. Their sin is the sin of all; and all persons receive from them a corrupt nature. For this reason, the fall of Adam is the fall of the human race.
II.    SALVATION OF MAN
Did God Provide a Plan to Redeem Man?  Yes!
A.  The Last Adam
1.    The apostle Paul thought of Christ as the second Adam.
1 Corinthians 15:22; 1 Corinthians 15:45
a.    Where Adam failed, Jesus would not fail.
2.    This has been God’s plan for redemption since the beginning of time.
Revelation 13:8
B.    You must be Born Again
John 3:3
1.    The new birth is a creative life-giving operation of the Holy Spirit upon a lost human soul.
2.    The New birth happens as a result of placing one’s faith in Christ crucified.
John 3:14-16; Galatians 3:24
3.    The dead sinful nature is quickened into spiritual life and made a partaker of the divine nature and of the life of Christ Himself.
Galatians 2:20; Ephesians 2:10; Colossians 1:27; 1 Peter 1:23-25; 2 Peter 1:4
4.    It is clear, therefore, that the new birth is not the reformation of the old nature but the reception of a new nature.
C.    New Creation
1.    Paul said, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation" (2 Corinthians 5:17).
2.    Although our "outward man" is perishing, the Christian's "inward man is being renewed day by day"
